Last year, the volume of cargo handling at Russian seaports grew by 3.9% due to effective interaction with other market participants, federal authorities and partners, said ASIP executive director Serik Zhusupov, speaking at a conference of the Association of Sea Trade Ports.
Namely, ASOP noted participation in the development of some regulatory acts that contributed to the resolution of issues. Among them is the approval of a road map for the development of competition for stevedoring activities. As a result, it implies the abolition of state regulation of tariffs in seaports. At the same time, ASOP turned out to achieve the abolition of the introduction of the investment fee – as a condition for the abolition of state regulation. This could worsen the competitiveness of Russian sea terminals on the international freight market.
