A drug that is not registered in Russia can be imported into the country by law within five days. At the same time the decision of the medical commission is necessary. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Earlier the hospice “House with a lighthouse”, the fund for help to hospices “Vera”, as well as parents of seriously ill and terminally ill children prepared an appeal to the Russian president. They asked to create a mechanism for the rapid provision of important medicines to children.

“The profile department continues to issue permits for the importation of unregistered medicines within five days in case of a relevant decision of the medical commission. As a rule, the period for consideration of documents by the Ministry is no more than three days, – noted in the Ministry of Health.

In the appeal it was noted that the children who need such medicines are more than officials think.

In turn, the ministry does not exclude such a situation. According to the press service of the ministry, the Ministry of Health is negotiating with manufacturers to ensure the availability of domestic drugs.

It is noted that the import of medicinal products for personal use according to the prescription of the doctor is carried out without additional restrictions.
