After the change of president in Kazakhstan, Russia will do everything to maintain cooperation with this country at the proper level, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on Tuesday made a statement that from March 20 he will cease his authority as head of the republic, and for the rest of the time, they will be transferred to Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev. Tokaev has already taken the oath to the people of the republic. Elections in Kazakhstan are scheduled for next year.
“Nursultan Nazarbayev is one of the initiators of advanced integration between our countries, he is one of the authors of the EAEU – a project that is developing extremely successfully, thanks to, among other things, his direct support and his participation in this work. For our part, we pledge to do everything to support these processes, ”said Vladimir Putin at a meeting with members of the government.
