Marina Belenkova, director of the department for working with customers of the railway industry of Gazprombank Leasing, Marina Marina Belenkova, announced a possible reduction in gondola rates for six months while maintaining low coal prices and high wagon production, during the Cargo Panorama forum in Moscow today. According to the leasing company, the rates in August 2019 amounted to 1700 rubles per day and tend to decrease. At the same time, M. Belenkova noted an increase in the cost of operating a gondola car, which in the indicated month amounted to 560 rubles / wagon per day.

The main reason for the increase in operating costs in the company is the increase in the cost of wheelsets. All in all, create additional problems for participants in leasing contracts, which have rising costs amid falling profitability. These trends, as well as a decrease in coal prices on world markets, lead to a decrease in leasing purchases of open wagons, M. Belenkova noted.
Today, Gazprombank Leasing is one of the three leaders in the Russian Federation in terms of the volume of new business in the segment of railway equipment (more than 15 billion rubles) according to Expert RA according to the results of the first half of 2019.
